AIM Mail, AOL's free web-based email service, shines with unlimited online storage, very good spam protection and a rich, easy to use interface.
Unfortunately, AIM Mail lacks a bit in productivity (no labels, smart folders and message threading), but makes up for some of that with very functional IMAP (as well as POP) access.

GMX Mail is a reliable email service filtered well of spam and viruses whose 5 GB of online storage you can use not only through a rich web interface but also via POP or IMAP from a desktop email program.
More and smarter ways to organize mail could be nice.

4. Yahoo! Mail - Free Email Service

Yahoo! Mail is your ubiquitous email program on the web with unlimited storage and RSS news feeds, SMS texting and instant messaging to boot.
While Yahoo! Mail is generally a joy to use, free-form labelling and smart folders would be nice, and the spam filter could catch junk even more effectively.

5. Zenbe Mail Personal - Free Email Service

Zenbe Personal organizes your emails and attachments (from Zenbe and existing POP accounts) with labels and search — and integrates calendar, to-do list, twitter and Facebook updates, too.
With a focus on elegant simplicity, Zenbe provides many sweet shortcuts but also shows quirks and omissions in others. The spam filter is good, but it would be great if IMAP access was possible for all folders (not just the inbox).

6. Gawab.com - Free Email Service

Gawab.com is a speedy, stable and very usable free email service with 10 GB online space, POP and IMAP access as well as many a web-based goodie.
It's a pity Gawab.com's IMAP implementation does not give you access to labels, and full message search is missing from the web interface.

7. Inbox.com - Free Email Service

Inbox.com not only gives you 5 GB to store your mail online but also a highly polished, fast and functional way to access it via either the web (including speedy search, free-form labels and reading mail by conversation) or through POP in your email program.
Unfortunately, IMAP access is not supported by Inbox.com, and its tools for organizing mail could be improved with smart or self-teaching folders.

8. FastMail Guest Account - Free Email Service

FastMail is a great free email service with IMAP access, useful features, and a stellar web interface.
It's a pity FastMail does not offer truly effective spam filtering for free accounts, and more storage space for all users.

Windows Live Hotmail is a free email service that gives you 5 GB (and growing) of online storage, fast search, solid security, POP access and an interface easy as a desktop email program.
When it comes to organizing mail, Windows Live Hotmail does not go beyond folders (to saved searches and tags, for example), its spam filter could be more effective, and IMAP access to all online folders would be nice.

10. Yahoo! Mail Classic - Free Email Service

Yahoo! Mail Classic is a comfortable, reliable and secure email service with unlimited storage. A pretty good spam filter keeps the junk out, and you can send rich emails using Yahoo! Mail's HTML editor.

11. BigString.com - Free Email Service

BigString.com is a free 2 GB email service that includes rich secure and certified mail services and lets you password-protect, expire or edit sent messages, for example.
Unfortunately, BigString.com is not equally well equipped for handling incoming mail and lacks organizing tools.

Lavabit nets you a solid, secure and privacy-conscious email account which you can access in your email program using POP or IMAP and in your browser using a rudimentary web interface.
It's a pity Lavabit restricts statistical spam filtering to paid accounts and lacks a fully fledged web interface.

HotPOP offers free, reliable email accounts you can use with any email program using POP3 and SMTP. In addition, HotPOP lets you forward incoming messages to multiple other addresses.
Unfortunately, HotPOP lacks IMAP access and a web-based email interface and is a bit short on storage space.

Cara bikin e-mail di Gmail

Kali ini saya berikan cara membuat email gmail, atau layanan email yang disediakan oleh si mesin pencari yaitu google. Saya rasa memiliki email di gmail hukumnya wajib, kenapa wajib.. ??? karena layanan email yang diberikan oleh google ini bisa dibilang layanan email terbaik abad ini. Saya mengatakan baik karena gmail meskipun gratis mempunyai kelebihan yang pantas dibanggakan dibandingkan layanan email yang lain. Salah satunya adalah kapasitas simpan yang besar dan selalu bertambah, hebatkan…??? biasanyakan kalau suatu ruangan ditambah isinya semakin berkurang.. eh ini malah ditambah…hehehe. Selain kapasitas simpan yang besar, layanan email dari google ini memiliki fasilitas penyaring email spam yang bagus, jika dibandingkan dengan ahoo.com. contohnya gini, jika kamu mendaftarkan sesuatu program di internet, kemudian kamu diminta memasukin email untuk verifikasi, dan kamu memasukkan email dari yahoo.com, maka lebih sering email verifikasi yang kamu terima masuk ke dalam kotak spam, padahal itu bukanlah spam.. tapi hal itu tidak akan terjadi jika kamu menggunakan layanan email dari google.com atau gmail

Okelah langsung aja saya berikan langkah-langkah membuat email dig mail (google.com)

1. Langkah paling awal, siapkan koneksi internet, bukan browser, saya sarankan untuk memakai mozila fire fox, karena lebih enak dan cepat menurut saya J

2. masukan alamatnya urulnya http://mail.google.com/ atau kamu juga bisa masukan dulu http://google.co.id, kemudian klik menu gmail pada bagian atas jendela google

3.Kemudian pilih menu [sign up ke gmail]

4. Lalu masukan identitas kamu pada formulir pendaftaran, untuk langkah-langkah pengisian sangat mudah sekali, dan hamper sama dengan cara pengisian pada layanan email di Yahoo.com, kalau kesulitan dalam mengisi karena formulir berbahasa inggris, tinggal gantit aja bahasanya pada pojok kanan sebelah atas jendela formulir pendaftaran. Pilih bahasa sesukamu, tapi maaf kayaknya untuk bahasa jawa tidak ada tuh… yang ada Cuma bahasa Indonesia…. hahahah

5.Untuk pengisian verifikasi kata, jika sulit dibaca, bisa diganti dengan klik pada simbul kecil yang ada disebelah kanan kotak isian verfikasi kata.

6.Kalau sudah diisi semua, tinggal klik menu [Saya menerima. Buatkan akunku].. udah deh selesai

7. untuk mencoba menampilkan emailmu, lansung aja klik menu [saya siap – tampilkan account saya]

8.Kamu akan di bawa ke dalam jendela kotak masuk email kamu, untuk pertama kali ada satu pesan masuk dari gmail sendiri. Untuk membukanya, ya tinggal klik aja pesan yang tampil ada kotak masuk.

9.Untuk keluar dari gmail kamu harus klik sign-out, dan jangan langsung klik exit pada jendela browser kamu. Karena kalau kamu tidak sign-out dan langsung klik exit, nanti suatu saat jika ada orang lain yang membuka layanan gmail, maka yang tampil adalah account gmail kamu… bisa bahaya kan???? Hal ini bisa terjadi kalau kamu akses internetnya di warnet, kalau akses internet di pc pribadi sih tidak masalah.

10. Jika sudah sign-up dan kamu ingin membuka email, langkahnya buka http://mail.google.com, jika sudah tampil jendela gmail, masukkan id gmail, dan paswod kamu, kemudian klik [masuk] maka kamu akan di bawa ke kotak masuk gmail kamu…
